Wedgwood Conferences and Regional Events are always the highlight of the year for the Wedgwood community. These events allow individuals to actually experience the culture that we are teaching them about. Our gatherings provide guests with an opportunity to get to know film producers, musicians, writers and entrepreneurs, and we always make sure everyone has a good time. In the past, our guests at the Austin South by Southwest Festival enjoyed great seats at a concert with the musicians they just met at our panel discussion… or in New York, guests experienced a special performance from the cast of Stephen Schwartz’ (Broadway’s Wicked) new show for some after dinner entertainment at Sardi’s restaurant. Whether it’s a three day conference or a 3 hour Regional Dinner, you are sure to meet people that will encourage and challenge you as well as learn how to play a role in renewing our culture. Come and Join us!
Meanwhile, Conference Calls provide an opportunity for Wedgwood to regularly engage both the artist community and those interested in investing in culture. These calls bring culture creators together with people who are committed to providing resources and support for their work.
Between regular gatherings and calls, Wedgwood is committed to cultivating a vibrant community of culture creators and culture catalysts, people with a vision for “doing well while doing good.”
The Wedgwood Circle’s Annual Investor Event is the premier meeting place for angel investors, foundations, entrepreneurs, and artists who are using capital to invest/grant in the art and entertainment sectors. Wedgwood hosts one annual investor conference each Fall. While the annual investor event is open only to members and sector liaisons, every conference includes a number of optional events that incorporate cultural venues and provide opportunities for members to interact and build relationships with artists and cultural leaders.

Wedgwood hosts outreach dinners each year in various cities to provide an opportunity for members and prospective members to learn more about investing in culture. The regional dinners give members the opportunity to convene and converse with prominent industry insiders. Dinners are hosted by Wedgwood members or sector liaisons who are seeking to expand Wedgwood’s vision within their hometown or region. If you are interested in hosting or co-hosting an outreach dinner in 2010, please contact Jenny White.
2009 Wedgwood Circle dinners took place in Dallas, TX (February), Denver, CO (July) and Lancaster, PA (September).
WCI seeks to educate foundations regarding current rules and applications for Program Related Investing in support of cultural renewal. This education component took the initial form of a “foundation gathering” on April 16th, 2009, in Washington, DC for the launch of our 501(c)(3).
Wedgwood hosts several conference calls each year that focus on equipping and building community amongst investors and artists. Some of the calls will feature a qualified angel investor discussing best practices and investment principles within key sectors, while others will feature a qualified artist and/or theologian to discuss theological and artistic principles that make story, creativity, truth, and song a critical part of our humanity and culture. If you are interested in participating in these calls, please contact Kristin Neal, Director of Community Relations.
